Role
The purpose of the Warehouse Supervisor is to support the distribution and receipt of material between locations to support the daily logistical needs of Grand Prairie Foods.
Team Member Responsibilities
- Execute shipping and receiving; loading and unloading trucks; checking in merchandise; matching purchase orders to sales orders; and distributing to sales associates for processing
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping, or to other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code
- Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods
- Open bales, crates and other containers
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program
- Assist in counting physical inventory
- Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
- May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed
- Always organize the warehouse and work area for orderliness
- Prepare order for next shift
- Go to person for all Logistics needs on the shift
- Coordinate shift handoff and communications
- Verify paperwork and processes are accurate
- Ensure personal safety rules are met
- Ensure product safety and quality are met
- Ensure systemic accuracy for inventory control
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Training Requirements
- High School diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience
Work Experience Requirements
- One year of prior logistics experience
- Insurable through Grand Prairie insurance, valid driver’s license preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to drive 26’ straight truck preferred, but not necessary
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less for up to 10 hours per day
- Exposure to variation in temperature
